Most of the students need secondary education because of the promotion in their permanent or future jobs or for applying for the new position as well. Institution is open to the students of various needs either from different social layers or vulnerable social groups (immigrants, working students, single or divorced students with children, orphans, teenagers or young pregnant, single or divorced mothers, students with mental or physical health problems, students who have returned from places of imprisonment, prison etc.). To ensure educational quality psychological, social, special pedagogical, health, security, teaching and learning assistance and informational support is provided for the learners.

Rääma Noorte Ühing Noorus (Estonia)

The organisation has a long history dating back to 1935. From its early years, it quickly became an important centre of local cultural life and non-formal education, gaining recognition across the country.
During the years of Soviet occupation, these activities were interrupted. However, since 1998 Nooruse Maja has been actively organising a wide range of cultural events and educational programmes for both adults and young people.
The organisation is actively involved in various projects and has established cooperation with Pärnu Adult Gymnasium and other formal and non-formal adult education institutions, implementing different training activities. In September 2021, Nooruse Maja hosted the first conference of the Association of Estonian Folk High Schools (ERL) titled “The Unused Potential of Folk High Schools – There Is a Lot of Interest, but What Comes Next?”. The aim of the conference was to raise awareness among the Estonian public and education policy makers about the role of folk high schools and non-formal education in lifelong learning.

Eira High School for Adults, Finland

Eira High School for Adults is a largest adult education provider in Finland, based in Helsinki. The school has around 3000 enrolled students studying in the Basic Education Programme, the High School Programme (lukio), and various individual courses.
The school is multicultural and open to students from diverse backgrounds, providing inclusive and integrative education for all learners. In the comprehensive education programme, most students are young adults up to the age of 25, many of whom have an immigrant background.
The school's experience in language training for refugees, the development of labour policy training for immigrants, and the organisation of the National Certificate of Language Proficiency examination since 1988 have provided the school with strong expertise in this field.
Together with students, it is possible to test different learning methods and evaluate exercises that help reduce stress and restore emotional balance. Students’ own experiences in this area are also valuable, as they can share their perspectives and suggest practical recommendations for teachers on how to reduce stress.

The Institute of Adult Education, Finland

founded in 1961, is an institute of adult education operating within the Liberal Adult Education Act, one of the largest privately-owned institutes in Finland. The Institute of Adult Education in Helsinki is a member of KOL (Finnish Association of Adult Education Centres). The institute offers Basic Education to immigrants over 18 years old. The goal is to give skills and abilities for further studies and/or working life and an opportunity to study single subjects separately. To adults are also offered courses in various fields, including IT, language learning, healthy lifestyle and others. The school staff has collected valuable experience on how to create an educational process for adult immigrants, war refugees and others who need support and quality education for a better, peaceful future.
